About the Trailblazers:
The Springdale Trailblazers student mountain bike team is open to all Springdale students grades 5-12. All students are welcome regardless of mountain bike experience.
We compete in “Plateaus” Region of the Arkansas NICA (National Interscholastic Cycling Association) League against schools and students from across the state.
Our season consists of 5 races starting in August and finishing in late October. Student races are divided according to age and gender. Grades 5-8 are divided into 3 different skill categories and high school is divided into 9th grade, JV, and varsity.

1. Completed the liability waiver: https://app.hellosign.com/s/GUoBgIVw
2. Bring and wear a helmet
3. Have enough water for the conditions (and preferably some snacks)
4. An extra tire tube for flats (coaches carry tools to help students learn to change flats, but students must have their own tubes)

Students are expected to check their “ABCD’s” before every ride (Air, Brakes, Chain, Derailleur/shifting)
6. Appropriate clothing for riding in the current weather
For more information about riding gear and maintenance please check out our Mountain bike gear & maintenance skills guide or talk to your coaches!
Can an interested rider come check out a practice?
Yes! Any student may join us for a practice.
Please contact us first: [email protected]
Any new rider must have the following:
1. Completed the liability waiver: https://app.hellosign.com/s/GUoBgIVw
2. An appropriate helmet
3. A working, mountain bike (loaners may be available if needed)
Water that they can bring on the trail (bottle cage & water bottle on a bike or small backpack)
Can a parent ride with the team?
YES!
We always need more adult volunteers to ride with us. Regardless of skill level or experience. The more adults we have riding, the safer a ride is for all students, we can have more and smaller riding groups, and it is a better experience and practice for all of the students and coaches!
If you are interested in riding with the team or know an adult (parent or not) who would be interested in helping, please let us know! Without enough adults, we cannot provide a safe and fun ride for our team.
Having adult volunteers is essential to grow our team.
